Industry, the new and the old, intermingle yet the weeds still manage to infiltrate what we perceive to be solid ground. As a living breathing human on this wondrous planet, do you consider yourself part of or separate from it?
I was born in 1971 in a small market town off the coast of Northern England.I haven’t resided in the UK for over twenty years, but my work evokes feelings of my past through ideas influenced by shapes, colors and textures in our surroundings. Each piece reflects my love of nature and the connection between humans and our environment.
About Victoria:
Victoria Corbett is the artist and founder behind Victrola Design, an Austin-based stationery and home wares line known for whimsical illustrations of flora & fauna.The line is rooted in Victoria's observations of the beauty surrounding her, inspired by repetition, uniformity, and patterns found in nature. Each color is thoughtfully chosen and mixed by hand, then screen printed onto fabric or paper in Victoria's studio in East Austin.
Victoria has been drawing and making art since childhood, and she formally trained at London University in 3D product design. Her art has been featured on Design Sponge and The Austin American Statesman.
She has been commissioned by the Four Seasons Austin, Peter Bay the Music Director of the Austin Symphony Orchestra and several private clients to provide fine art for their collections. When not creating art or running her business, Victoria spends her time with her husband, who is a private chef and drummer and their two ridiculously cute cats.
